Hey, arklon! You're really getting these done quick! I've asked for a review of my first level a few times now, but other reviewers seem to have their hands full at the moment. I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know my official score!

Level Name: Material World (Part 1)
    PSN: Evil_Death_Bee

I've heard from just about everyone that it's extremely difficult. And I (the one who made it) have yet to ace it... So the difficulty might be an issue. Just a heads up! Thanks!

    The Material world part one

    By Evil_Death_Bee

material world is an action plat former set in a world completely made up out of sponges who have been invaded by people from a world of glass. I was told by the creator that this was a very hard and challenging level and that has to been an issue with many a people. All I can say is pffft, its a breeze, piece of cake, I beat it like it stole my cookie...... actually I'm lying my little sack face off, this level is pure EVIL. Its evil in a way that I almost put my head into the TV monitor while screaming obscenities that would have even made hardened convicts yell "hey that's just not right!"
You start off in the pretty wilderness of sponge world and soon you meet with the king who tells you the evil glass people stole all their children and of course after that its off to the rescue. After that its one insane obstacle after another and it starts off rough, even the first one can take some time to clear. Each obstacle is different and interesting enough to keep things interesting and since each one is very difficult each one seems like an "event" Its such a relief when you finally clear it and you know the next one will probably be even harder so you wonder how long this one will take you or if you will be able to best it. Really its kinda like the Olympics broke up in all those really physical challenges. I did finish this and its very possible, it just takes patience and time and this is why only certain groups of players will love this level. Those who love challenges and really hard levels will probably have this five stared and hearted in a heartbeat plus all the old pros who can ace most levels will feel the same. The players who are out just for quick and easy plays and do not want to spend too much time on one level will feel very differently though and there are a LOT of players like that on LBP. I have never given a level low stars just because it was too hard for me or I died to many times but we all know there are lots out there who do.
The level has an unique look and is very pretty and different from all the usual visual kinds of levels due to the fact that its all sponges cept for the invading glass that starts to seep into the level. I liked this, at first it was all sponge and slowly as you go through more and more glass starts to creep in, it really does feel like the level is slowly getting overtaken by glass. It also gives it a trippy dazed out look and feel, sometimes its like playing inside a lava lamp.

    Level Design 8

The level is designed to be hard and it is, it looks great and I found nothing but sponge and glass in the level and yes I was looking hehe. All the obstacles while hard were possible and I found zero glitches and no places to get stuck or unfairly sent back or anything like this.

all the kids are gone? why are you guys upset again? I am gonna go sit by the fountain and enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Scenery; 7

The beginning with the village is awesome and there are some great visuals spread around and the all sponge look with bits of glass intruding does have a nice look to it but after a while you kinda start to get all sponged out and it all starts to blend together and look the same.

    Originality:7

I liked the story a lot, it was new and the idea of level made out of nothing but sponge and glass is intriguing. Though there are a few new ideas in the obstacles but most of them are just variations of things we have seen before like the electrified maze. I do have to say there is a puzzle in there that was both kind of old and fresh. It was your typical grab a rope and guide a key through a maze to its destination thing but the string is elastic and the key is VERY fragile and so you must be very careful not to destroy it. I broke it several times until I finally learned its better to leg go at certain parts and let it float up or down before continuing.

its kinda like one of those claw machines to get stuffed animals exception this is actually possible.

    Fun factor: 8

This was so hard to decide, those who love a challenge are gonna have a blast, those who do not are gonna be very frustrated and annoyed but if you just give it some time and go slow and actually invest some of yourself into a level when you finally make it to the finish line you cannot say that you did not have fun getting there, just hopefully your controller and TV is still intact after you get there. There is also lots of points and other stuff cleverly hidden all over the place and can take a bit of searching and extra plat forming to get to.

I wonder if these electric mazes are what all baby sacks must go through in the womb right before they are born.

    Grade: 7

This is a level meant for all the pros and those who love high difficulty and the people its meant for are gonna love it. Its easy on the eyes though the look does kinda get old halfway through and all the things to do aren't totally new but its fun and memorable and its well made with plenty of thought put into the design and obstacles.

Either I'm in a big soda pop bottle or eating all that glue was a bad idea.....

Haha, I told you it was tough... I actually wasn't planning on it being that hard! It just came out that way. Can you believe there weren't originally infinite lives? (I realized how impossible it was after my brother got super annoyed with it. >_>) Thanks for the review! I'm glad it didn't aggravate you too much!

    Talking

    The Flooder

    by Inathanm

The the story of flooded is simple enough and actually the word simple describes this level to the letter. An enemy of LBP known as the flooded is going to ya you guessed it, flood the world. I was told that this is the creators first level and it is pretty much the poster child for all first levels cause it pretty much has every thing we all come to expect when we hear "first level" in spades.
I have always been haunted by the question, how do you rate a first time level? Do you go easy on it? or do you just be honest and give it like it is? My answer is honesty is the best route but I also think for reviews like this the most helpful and best thing you can do is also give tips and suggestions and tell them how best they can improve their levels. So for the rest of the review I'm gonna point out what's wrong and then give opinions on how you can best improve yourself.

    Tip one: Be patient

I noticed a lot of stuff here where you just hastily put something in and went on your way, For example one of your characters is imbedded in the ground and its obvious you just put him there and did not fix the imprints he left in the ground when you placed him. You should always try to fix stuff like this and usually its not that big a deal cause its very small and sometimes even hard to notice and its not even worth nit picking about but THIS one was not small....

wow this guy must have some very hard steps, remind me never to play kick ball with him...

You should take your time when you make a level and not get into a rush, the longer you wait do to taking time to edit and tinker with your level before publishing it makes it all the more worth it when you finally do publish

    Tip 2: Backgrounds

Using the mm backgrounds is fine but in my opinion you should not just rely on that alone and have the entire level with that same background, spice it up with some of your own backgrounds mixed in or just do all your backgrounds. If the only thing you actually make is just the ground then it just does not feel like you took much time or work all that hard on a level.

    Tip 2: Be creative!

This is the most important thing I can tell you. When making stuff, like enemies and bosses and other such things try to brainstorm, put some thought into it. Try to make something new and interesting. Put a lot of detail into the design and look or else once again it will look like a rush job

is this boat built on a floating banana?

This is your boat, not much to it. Stuff like this is what you should put a little more effort inand when you make your own contraption or something like that you want people to go "wow" or "oh that's nice" or something to that affect when they see it. My motto is if you build something try to build something ya can be proud enough to show off.

The same goes for making enemies, a little creative thought can go a long way.

I am arklon! The master of finding easy and cheap way to take out monsters!

Here is one the minions of the flooder, not very memorable, I honestly believe you can do better then this. Use the edit tool, use stickers and decorations, just let your imagination fly and see what you end up with.

Now that takes us to the boss fight, the flooder himself

I have been standing in this spot for the last five minutes and he has not shot me once, why was I supposed to be scared of this guy again?

Yeah the picture pretty much says it all. Once again be creative! Don't just use a plain cutout but make it something unique, make it your OWN. Put some of your own flavor and style into the creature and make a inathonm style boss and not just a plain cut out. Also I did stand in that spot for five minutes and did not get shot once, then I accidentally got rid of my gun while taking the picture so I had to run back and get another one and not once did he ever kill me. Your climactic boss should be a tad more intimidating and challenging.

I'm not trying to be mean, I just want to help ya improve your level and creating skills and maybe after you have made your second level its something you can truly be proud of.
Normally I break down my reviews in rated sections but I decided to give ya the tips instead but here is a little breakdown on the level

    Level Design 2

Very little effort put into this at all. all ya really made were some floating platforms

    scenery: 3

Once again not much to look at, very little decorations or stickers is used.

    Originality 3

A mad man out to flood the world is interesting but there is no innovative plat forming or puzzle solving or obstacles at all.

    Fun Factor: 3

You grab some sponges to raise the water level, take a VERY small boat ride and shot a gun a lot, really not a lot of interesting things to do here

    Grade: 3

A typical first level, most every bodies first levels were like this so don't fret. Just use my suggestions and suggestions from other people and try to improve yourself and your next levels are bound to be good.

Mr Genji I will get on your level first chance I get
