LBP at PAX (Penny Acrcade Expo) in Seattle (with video of GOTY and PSP)

    HI PEEPS!!!

Its b-coli reporting from Seattle again!!!

Only this time it is at PAX 2009. For those that don't know it is a HUGE game expo here in Seattle started by Penny Arcade, that gets bigger each year. http://www.paxsite.com/

This year it sold out completely (60,000 3 day passes) and I had to actually get tix second hand in order to get in... but I got a 3 day pass, so will be trying to shoot some video when I can. Some may be blurry cause its dark in there and I am using a picture camera with video feature so kinda hard to focus

Of course I went straight for the Sony booth , Then straight to the psp's to try out LBP on psp... It is actually pretty easy to pick up and play, but the menus take a second to get used to and there is a different intro movie , The pod is different, set up like a totem pole... I will try and get some footage of it, but it is really hard to shoot in there, kinda crowded
I got some ok footage with a macro lens so you could see the different faces and poses with the directional pad , hope you enjoy.

Ok, sorry the video is so blurry these ones are better
Now for some GOTY edition footage !!!
First is the menu selection, where you must select "Bonus" to get to the 18 bonus levels and all other content that is included in the GOTY edition of LBP.

please note: These 18 levels will ONLY be available on the GOTY edition and not available as download content in the PSN store. I confirmed this with Mark Valledor today. He is the one that posted the this:
"Sack it to me" the I can't wait until GOTY demo next week "edition"

We had a nice chat and I told him all bout the forum and all the competitions we have here all the time. (of course..hehe) Hope you enjoy this preview.

I actually played all the way through X-NOBODY-X's level "Tales of the Little Big Crystal" and it was fun !! I did not shoot any footage of this level cause I was playing it, and let me tell you... it is LONG !!! hahaha In a good way. The ending was really well done... that is all I am sayin'... You can see me flash past it in the video above at the 16 second mark.

The levels apparently have a creator video before each level you play, shot in their homes... haha Can't wait to see what some of these people look like... and their homes

This next video is very short intro (I agreed to not shoot too much footage of the levels, so he let me film some ) This one is "Bunnies in Space" by Foofles. You can see the levels are really well done , hope to get more footage tomorrow...

This next video is some more footage of another bonus level from the GOTY edition. I did not catch the level name or creator name either. Hope to get more footage tomorrow, gonna go real early Again all the levels I saw were of a very high calibur... so I might actually have to buy this version... (thinking of who I could give old copy to.... )

I got to spend some time playing on the PSP Go also.
Let me tell you... That thing is LIGHT, slick and cool. I actually had my doubts about it, but it changed my mind holding it in my hand, it is so much smaller than i thought. I liked it a lot more the way it fit in my hand than the original psp. The button positions and nub layout feels more like a ps3 controller, 'cept the missing right nub But the screen is crystal clear and brite and the trigger buttons are really easy to use even though the screen slides up in front of them. I will try and report more tomorrow, time permitting. I can't wait to go back and play God of War 3 , Uncharted 2 single player, Rachet and Clank, some more LBP on PSP. Oh yeah and more swag !!!! YAY for swag!!!!

Nicely done. Looks like some really great stuff. (And Brutal Legend looks sweet!) I'm sending a ton of imaginary rep your way. Excellent reporting.
