I always make sure the player cannot fall out of the level by having the actual floor being part of the level and cover it with a sticker panel with a broadcast microchip and a kill tweaker. I build all the way down to the floor so even falling out of bounds will make the player feel as if its all part of the level, because you just can't test every little corner to see if you can escape.

 

I noticed that's a gripe that comes up now and then and it's a real game breaker for any level.
