NMS Data Analysis Part 2

No Mans Sky, PS4, exotics, rare and 3 more...
I've had another chance to delve into the huge amount of NMS data that I collected for one more look at the data. Now that update 1.3 Atlas Rises is coming out, it is likely that the amount of resources or even the way they are distributed might change significantly, so I won't be doing any more with this data.

It has been interesting and enlightening,...

NMS Data Analysis

No Mans Sky, PS4, data and 4 more...
I finally got around to doing a data analysis of the notes I had taken from a bunch of the star systems I have visited in No Man's Sky. An Excel spreadsheet wasn't up to the task, due to the fact that I had different data types contained within it. (Okay, so it might be possible, but would take a lot of time and effort to do so.) I finally managed to get...

New Home Planet and New Base Design

Posted by katanagirl1 , 09 April 2017 · 593 views

I admit I was really thrilled about the idea of base building in NMS when it was announced in the Foundation update, since it really didn't make sense in a game where the goal was to keep moving and reach the center of the galaxy. I did find that the unreliability of vendors with respect to rare items was an issue, that you never could find what you need...

Pathfinder Update - New Photo Mode

No Mans Sky, PS4, photo and 2 more...
I have been playing around with the new Photo Mode that was added with the Pathfinder update, and got some really artsy, cool results that I wanted to share! Photo mode stops the action, so you can move the camera around, up and down, or even change the sun's position to get just the right look. You can also apply filters, but I prefer to show the beauty...

So...I Have this Base now...

No Mans Sky, PS4 and 2 more...
Yeah, I finally did it. My internal drive for completionism has won over. I finally found a nice planet with good weather, no storms, and lots of water - a "tropical planet" they call it. Not as lush as some, but it wasn't one of the hostile sentinel, radioactive, toxic, cold, or hot planets I'd seen bases on before. It didn't show up in the new-and-i...

NMS - Update 1.12

Posted by katanagirl1 , 04 December 2016 · 359 views
No Mans Sky, PS4, update, patch
Another surprise update today! I noticed that moons are now smaller on the ship radar than the planets. That should make it much easier to navigate around, since the moons don't actually revolve around the planets like in real life. That radar change might have been in the last update, since I don't think I have visited a system with moons until now, s...

NMS Update 1.11 today!

No Mans Sky, PS4, base building and 2 more...
I was surprised to find an update today when I logged into my PS4 - the rumored update to include base building and freighters! While I'm not really interested in that myself, I just continued the normal game mode. There is also an extreme survival mode and a creative mode that is supposed to give you unlimited resources to build things. Maybe I'll try...

Star Systems and Rare Items

No Mans Sky, PS4, rare items and 4 more...
So I've found Vortex Cubes, Sac Venom, Gravitino Balls, AquaSpheres, Radnox, Calium, and Murrine. I still haven't found Omegon. I'd been going on the advice of several sites that said that the "higher tier" star systems, meaning red/green/blue stars have a better chance of lush planets and rare items. Here's one reddit post in particular:

Game review after 2 months play

No Mans Sky, PS4
I'm finally getting around to starting this blog, I've had so much fun playing the game that I didn't want to stop and take the time to write about it!

First of all, there are no comments about what the game said it would have versus what it does have, or what people thought it should have - none of that stuff is in here. I saw the presentation at E3 whe...
